Where the triumphant rums are aged in London & New York of 2023

The Paute river, coming from the snowy mountains of the Cordillera de Los Andes, kisses the facilities of San Miguel. Our rums are born from it, enriching their spirit and receiving its distinctive smoothness.

The molasses used for the production of our spirits comes from sugar cane from the Ecuadorian coasts with the virtue of being 100% natural.

One of the fundamental factors in the existence of Licores San Miguel for more than a century is its basic promise of "Natural Aging at Altitude". Licores San Miguel is one of the few rums in the world that have its aging carried out at 2,538 meters above sea level. Only the resting time in the majestic cellar allows the tafias to transform into the noblest, purest, and unique rum, San Miguel.

It is an aging process, after prior treatment, and reserved techniques of the purest and most select sugar cane distillate, which begins the great secret of the production of Ron San Miguel. The barrels used for aging are made of American white oak.
Located in the middle of the world, on top of the Andes Mountains, in Cuenca – Ecuador, from whose highland waters it draws for the production of its spirits.

San Miguel rums are the result of our passion, love, and effort to achieve the highest quality. Our goal is that, through them, we can elevate Ecuador to the pinnacle of the international rum scene.
Our rums conquer the world, as their Ecuadorian spirit transcends borders and seduces all those who know how to enjoy a great distilled drink.

Each of our rums carries in its essence the adventurous and wild spirit of the land that saw it born. Over time, San Miguel rums have made Ecuador a country recognized for its very high-quality spirits.
San Miguel is the only rum from the South Pacific that has been quoted and evaluated in the book “RUM” written by David Broom, one of the most prestigious rum researchers in the world, where Ron San Miguel receives a higher evaluation than leading Caribbean brands, testifying to its quality and the respectful natural process that our Master Rum-maker brings to life with his experience.

The double aging process is carried out through American oak barrels formerly used for bourbon.
